About Felix

Felix Lowe is a freelance journalist, author, translator and blogger who specialises in cycling, travel, entertainment and lifestyle.

He writes the Blazin' Saddles blog on Eurosport and the Last Gasp column in Cyclist magazine. After eventually taking up cycling in 2012 following the London Olympics, Felix rode his own Grand Tour from Barcelona to Rome in the autumn of 2013. His book, Climbs and Punishment: Riding to Rome in the Footsteps of Hannibal, was published in June 2014 by Bantam Press and was shortlisted in the cycling category for the Cross British Sports Book Awards 2015.

A keen photographer, Felix also translates from French into English and has also done TV work for Eurosport and France 24. In 2015, Felix contributed a chapter ('Captain Alex') to the acclaimed Cycling Anthology (Volume 6). He has written for The Telegraph, The Observer, The Guardian, The Times, Cyclist, Rouleur, Cycle Sport, ES Magazine and The Roar. He is author of the Eurosport podcast and historical feature series, Re-Cycle, and translator of the Essential Stories series. Currently based in Ealing in west London, he has previously lived in Bordeaux, Paris and Sydney.
