London 2013 – A Year Ahead Guide by LondonTown

One of my many non-cycling day jobs has been to co-edit LondonTown.com's arts and entertainment pages for two years – the crowning moment being this comprehensive 244-page printed guide to the best London events, openings, anniversaries and experiences in 2013.

I led a team of four writers to produce this book, writing myself many of the features, sections and listings. Articles I contributed included:

Some more of the book spiel from the Amazon page:

"If you thought there might be a post-Olympic slowdown in London, the LondonTown.com guide to the year ahead will soon put you right. In the year after hosting the landmark sports event, London has a huge wealth of arts and entertainment events, sporting fixtures and new openings to keep visitors happy in 2013.

"There are 64,192 events featured on LondonTown.com and with such an eclectic line-up, from blockbuster art exhibitions to West End shows, intimate talks to stadium gigs, it's set to be an exciting twelve months. 2013 is also the year that the Olympic legacy starts to take shape. The first phase of the regeneration of the Olympic infrastructure, turning it from a private zone into a public park with state-of-the-art venues, begins on 27th July as it hosts its first post-Olympic sporting event, the 2013 London Grand Prix traditionally held at Crystal Palace, in August. Another new opening is The View from The Shard - the highest viewing platform in the city which welcomes its first visitors on 1st February. There's much to look forward to in a year that David Bowie gets a retrospective at the V & A, legendary Londoner Michael Caine turns 80 - with a celebratory exhibition at the Museum of London - and the Queen marks 60 years since her coronation. Articles, maps and monthly listings for the whole of 2013."

A year earlier I co-edited 2012: The Annual – a shorter 120-page book looking at the best things on offer in London from April through to the end of the year. I also edited LondonTown's comprehensive online guide to the London 2012 Olympics.
